Dinner and Dancing

Dinner was fantastic, as expected!
Took us a little while to get our food, so we ended up having to take dessert on the run to get to the show in time. Luccily the restaurant was pretty close to the Dunkin Donuts Center!
We made it, and the show was a good one as well... I love Joey Lawrence!

For dinner I splurged on a non-alcoholic beer for a drink... (i couldn't have wine and I gave up soda!), I also sipped on ice water.

They brought a big bread bowl to the table, it was warm and tempting... I resisted a big slice with butter and just had a small bite of what tasted like a sweet whole grain bread.

I started with the special "Boston Bibb" salad... a great big hunk of bibb lettuce, topped with asian pear slices, shrimp and avocado! Yum! It had a citrus viniagrette on it as well. I ate 1/2 the lettuce, both pieces of shrimp/pear and a bit of avocado.

Then came my entree... delicious!
I went for the seared scallops over olive oil-garlic poached canellinis with butternut squash.
I ate 3/4 scallops, about 3/4 of the beans and both slices of butternut.
For the record, I also had a small bite of my mom's salmon. Yum!

I was stuffed, but couldn't pass up dessert!
Heres a pic of the Ginger-Pumpkin Bread pudding (in a to-go box ... doesn't look like much but it was absolutely fabulous!)
I split this with my mom and was full for the night!

Now I'm ready to settle in with my new book... Culinarytherapy by Beverly West!

Yoga tomorrow morning, lunch, groceries, and work... then back to school for a busy week!

Hi Kristin,

Is culinarytherapy any good? :)

It's very cute, LOTS of high fat dishes... but I think of them as workable challenges!
I've gotten lots of great inspiration from it, I'll just make the recipes my own... healthier! =)
