Back into the grind

Well, I'm back for another monday morning at the dorm. I got a great night's sleep last night (go figure) So this morning I started my day off well, had 1/2 a clif bar (Maple Nut) and went for a nice 40 minute run down at the track (still too chilly to run outside... I'm waiting!). Afterwards I came back, showered and now I'm eating my breakfast- a mini whole wheat bagel with 1 tbsp PB, 2 tsp jam, 1 cup 1% cottage cheese and a nectarine.

You might notice this is my "standard" easy dorm breakfast again... but with a bit of a twist. This morning I had a clif bar BEFORE I ran, and then ate the WHOLE bagel AFTER I ran... I used to just do 1/2 PB/J bagel before, half after. Since I'm trying to up my calorie intake to gain some weight, I added a little extra to my morning food routine. It was tasty and filing, plus I had tons of energy running, so it seems to be working out so far! Hopefully little changes like this will begin to add up.

Today's my long day, I packed my lunch, and I'll be back late for leftovers for dinner... see you all then!
Have a great Monday!

I'm upping my calorie intake because I need to gain weight, and I have needed to gain weight for quite some time now. I was at a point last year in which I trained too hard and ate too little while I was running a good amount- I became too restrictive with my "healthy" eating habits and ended up losing a bit too much weight. So now I'm at the point where my BMI is too low, and in order to be healthy I need to put on a few pounds. I've "tried" in the past, but I'm really getting more serious about it now, because being underweight can be very detrimental to one's health. When I am at my goal weight, I will be lowering my calorie intake back to one that is moderate and healthy for my weight/activity level when I get there. It's all about keeping a good balance, whether losing, gaining or maintaining!
