Easter Morning!

Happy Easter!
This morning I got up bright and early and went for an easy inclined 30 minute walk on the treadmill (nothing too crazy- it IS a holiday after all!) and then set out to make a big fruit salad for my family's little easter breakfast.

We had traditional hot cross buns, (store bought but I made SURE they had the fewest artificial ingredients and NO TRANS FATS! They were sweet and tasty!) some colored hard boiled eggs, and my big fruit salad.

Here's my plate:

I ate the whole bowl of fruit salad, my hot cross bun, one full hard boiled egg and one egg white with a bit of salt and pepper sprinkled on.

My family and I exchanged little presents, my sister gave me an adorable little mug from Starbucks filled with teas I love, as well as some Starbucks Mocha Truffles... mmm! I'll be trying one of those soon! ;)
My mom and dad also gave me a few treats- my FAVORITE easter candy, Cadbury Mini eggs, and some tiny lindt truffles! Fun! I'll be indulging in chocolate as soon as my breakfast digests =)

And... the most exciting part of my gifts... My mom got me Eat, Pray, Love which I have been dying to read, as well as Eat, Drink and Be Vegan!!! I'm so excited to try out all the new recipes!!!! I can't wait!

For my family, my dad/mom, sister and I all gave each other joint gifts, but I also gave my family a special little gourmet treat:
Personalized carrot cookies from Williams & Sonoma! I couldn't resist, I thought they were adorable!

They say my family's nicknames: 'Faja' (what I call my dad), 'Alicat' (my sister, Alison) and 'MamaBear' (a joking name given to my mom by a drag queen in NYC)

Now I'm off to start on my olive oil cake, and then we're heading up to my Aunt's house (about 45 minutes away) for a late lunch... I'll post again later tonight.

EDIT: I had my first Easter treat while posting... a delicious Starbucks mocha truffle... ohmigosh, to DIE FOR!
Go out and buy some now, they're the perfect mix of espresso and chocolate... creamy, melt in your mouth... and chocolate before 9 am? Gosh I love Easter =)
