Breakfast for dinner

This afternoon after studying for a bit, I had a filling snack of just over 1/4 cup of trail mix (mixed nuts, pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries) on top of some organic nonfat yogurt.

It filled me up initially, and then a while after eating it I started to feel a bit sick- I had stomach pains like I used to get when I ate full-fat ice cream. I found this quite odd, and hoped it would go away before eating dinner.
Unfortunately, it didn't go away; even after taking a couple rolaids, and waiting it out- I tried eating in hopes that it would settle my stomach a bit, but no luck.
Despite not feeling too well, I still had a nice dinner with Danielle and friends in her dorm- I had some waffles with syrup, fruit salad and vegetarian sausage for a yummy and satisfying "breakfast for dinner"! I had a great time catching up with Danielle and a couple other friends, hung out for a while and now I'm back here to get some work done and call it a night.

By the time I got back to the dorm, I still didn't feel 100%, so I made myself a nice big mug of ginger tea in hopes it will cure my tummy ache.
I honestly have no idea what it was- I always eat that trail mix, so I know it's not that- I'm guessing it was the yogurt, which expires on May 12 so I know it was good, but for some reason it just didn't agree with me. That happens to me with yogurt sometimes... greek yogurt I'm fine, but nonfat/low fat yogurts, even the organic kinds sometimes make me feel a bit yucky.
All the more reason to make the switch to soy for good! I have one more stonyfield left to use up, then I'll be oficially all-soy with my regular yogurts. I might still go for the greek every once in a while (I have a couple left) but I hate feeling like this- I definately feel better the less dairy I eat.

If I do end up feeling better I might be back for dessert in a bit!
Time to sip my tea and try to get some more work done!!

yikes, I hope your stomach pains are gone for good!! could you possibly be lactose-intolerant?

Hk,
The ginger tea actually made me feel much better, I love it!

Veggiegirl,
I am slightly lactose intolerant, that was one of the reasons why I switched to non dairy milks in the first case... I don't do full fat cheeses (I try to go vegan cheese when I can) or ice cream/milk, but yogurt (and gelato!) have never seemed to bother me.
Oh, well- it's all for the better- I feel just as healthy getting my calcium from soy and hemp than dairy, so non dairy (as much as I can) I will be!

I have similar experiences. I eat mostly vegan except I eat yogurt (plain nonfat) occasionally and honey and other things when they're beyond my control (like in sauces, etc.) I always feel off after having yogurt, so I think I'm going to not eat it.. Feel better!
