I'm feeling really good about the studying I've been getting done, I feel pretty prepared for my exams on Monday and am wrapping up the pre-work I have for my Philosophy exam on Tuesday. All that will be left after is Chemistry... which I am extremely nervous about studying for, because I'm afraid I'll encounter a LOT of forgotten information... but I'm a worrywort. So I'll try and stay calm.
Otherwise, all is well in Kristin's study-land, my dinner held me fantastically, but I couldn't pass up a dessert-break from school work, so I stopped to cut up a mango for my mom, sister and myself- I ate a few pieces while slicing- and paired it with an Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Breakfast Cookie. Yum! Not as good as my super-charge me cookies, but still pretty darn delicious.
I've been doing really well keeping my calories up in a healthy way, I'm up another pound this week and I'm slowly but surely getter closer and closer to my goal of a healthier weight, which makes me feel pretty good =)
On another good note, I am honored to have been awared the Excellent Blogger Award by the lovely Chickpea from Beyond Tofurky blog. I love her blog, we have very similar food adventures trying to live as healthy vegetarians with the restraints of a tiny dorm room, and I always love her inventive creations- so she is very deserving of the award as well!
I have to make a couple nominations myself, which is going to be very hard, because I read so many fantastic blogs, and it's so hard to choose which ones are the most excellent- I think they're all excellent. Congrats to a few of my faves who have already been awarded, Happy Herbivore, Veggie Girl, Chocolate Covered Vegan, Romina, they're all so deserving!
For my nominations, I give the award to:
Erica from Sweet Eats, her blog is quickly becoming one of my favorites- I love your colorful inventions, delicious looking deserts and great attitude towards eating for balance and pleasure!
Jenna from Eat, Live, Run, because her awesome recipes and delightful posts were what inspired me to start my own food blog!
Ally from Vegans Eat, her pictures are always so colorful and her meals so balanced I'd love to try some of her mini banana oat pancakes... mmmm!
Robin, from Hungry, Happy, Informed and Fit, she reminds me a lot of myself- and does a great job balancing her crazy schedule with healthy eating, on her road to veganism!
Heather, from Trust my Intuition, is doing great as a fairly new blogger, she always has such great recipe-combinations, and I think her dog is absolutely adorable!!
Congrats guys, keep up the awesome blogging! =)

Congrats to you (you totally deserve it-- I don't know how you are able to make good grades, keep an active social life, AND update your blog so much, but somehow you do it)!
And you picked some pretty darn good blogs to pass the award on to as well.
happy Saturday!
Congrats Kristin!
I see you are trying to gain weight... is there a specific reason why?
Keep up the good work.. you inspire me! :)
Vegan Nurse,
I've answered this question a couple times before, theres a little write-up in my "info" about it (maybe a FAQ page is in store...)
but I'll give you the low-down =)
Basically, I was bigger when I was younger, lost some weight, and about a year ago I started eating super healthy, and increasing my running routine at the same time- without increasing my food intake, or intaking enough calories/fat/protein to sustain my long runs. I thought, at the time, this was un needed or I would gain weight. I was wrong, and I continued to lose weight- weight I did not need to use because I was so small. So, now I'm at the point where I am actually under weight, and trying to put on some extra pounds to get back at a healthy BMI while stil trying to keep my diet fairly balanced, and fuel my exercise (which I need to do pretty much every day!). I've been doing this by adding extra calories in the form of extra portions of calorie-dense foods such as nuts and breakfast cereals- bigger breakfast and snacks overall, and a few extra treats here and there.
My goal was about a 13 lb gain, and I'm only 3 lbs into it now, but it's going pretty steady so hopefully I'll get there soon =)
Cognratulations on the award and thank you so much for my nomination!!!
The mini banana oat pancakes are fantastic, too bad I can't mail you some ;)
Thanks again and have a fantastic week!
