Off-balance

Today was a nice day, full of baking, which I love- nothing calms me more!
However, my eating was quite off... I had a cookie in the morning, and then I ate WAY more dough and cookie pieces than I had intended- so much I felt pretty full all day and didn't even 'need' to eat my lunch and snacks that I had. I don't like doing that... I know that means I'm consuming too much and my body is 'off'... actually, I've felt quite 'off' for a few days now.
I've gotta admit it guys, I know I went a little overboard already this holiday season... my pants are tight!!
I strive for balance above everything, and I think stress of exams as well as the everyday stressors of life have taken ahold of my self control...
I don't like to let that happen, so I am making it public that as soon as Christmas week is over I'm getting back into balance!
No more crazy sweets, only clean eating, solid exercise and balanced behavior. The way I love to live, the way I feel best!

So before I give you my eats for the day I present...
52 things...

10 things I plan to do over break
a.k.a Getting my 'balance' back

1. Exercise like I want to
This means cardio, 6x a week, as well as strength training.
I want to gain muscle and lose fat like I know I can!!

2. Read more.
I want to finally finish the book I've been working on, as well as a couple more books. I love reading and I really haven't had time to this past semester. It will be good to be able to get lost in a story again. It's always so exciting, yet so calming and comforting at the same time!

3. Start journaling again
Writing is such a release for me, I love to write down my thoughts and hopes... I have an online journal I write in every once and a while, I want to write in it more!

4. Blog more
Blogging really helped me get back into healthier eating habits, and I haven't been too consistent with it lately- I love blogging, and I want to share my life with you more, as well as recipes and other fun things I haven't been able to do with my busy schedule!

5. Get back into Yoga
Lack of money has prevented me from doing something I love and that keeps me centered. With more work I'll have some extra money and I should be able to get back into doing yoga once a week, which will be so good for my body and my soul.

6. Start Karate again
I've been away from Martial arts for almost two years now, and I miss it! I hope to start going back once a week and get back into it!

7. Get out of R.I.!
I love to travel, and I've been here almost a month without leaving the state. I hope to go to either Canada or South Carolina with my friend on a little road trip, and get some new experiences!

8. Catch up with old friends
A lot of my friends from high school are home again, but only for a short amount of time- I want to see all of them as much as I can, because true friends are so important to me... and I hate to think college is pulling any of us apart, but thats life... so I see them when I am able to!

9. Work more
As much as I despise being behind a register some days, I really like being financially secure- and having money to put into savings for things I want to do in the future, so the more I can work and make money the better!

10. Cook.
I want to try SO many new recipes, and hopefully make some of my own as well! Cooking always makes me happy, so I will defininitely be doing a lot of it this vacation!

Ready for my crazy daily eats?
I spent all morning doing this:

I licked dough here and there, and quite a few 'scrap' pieces went in my mouth.

When lunchtime rolled around I had a hummus&light laughing cow/spinach sammie on an arnold's sandwich thin with a pear and some carrots.

While packing some gifts I had a glass of 100% grapefruit juice (x2).

For an afternoon snack I had some sharp cheddar cheese, wheat crackers and a clementine.

I spent the evening making a video that will be posted shortly, as well as these:

For dinner I had a chunk of the leftover Italian Lasagna as well as the rest of my brussels sprouts I roasted with evoo, s&p

For dessert I had 3 (count- 3!) handfuls of mint m&ms.

See what I said? Self control, off the wall...
But the way I see it, it's more motivation to succeed when this is all over.

Have a great night, video will be up asap!!

omg i am soooo pumped for the vid!!! my pants are tighter too from exams :o i like your goals for this break. reading and working out 6x a wk are definitely on my list as well. another one of my goals is to use plates and bowls more instead of grabbing food from bags and shoving it right into my mouth ;)
