Celebrating the Earth

Happy Earth Day everyone!
I hope you all make the effort, at least to some extent, to be eco-conscious today! The earth gives us so much (everything we need, really) it's about time we gave back! So take out your recycling, carpool to work and re-use that water bottle! Our wonderful planet thanks you =)

To celebrate our beautiful earth, this morning I had 1/2 a big banana covered in organic almond butter, and took a nice 35-minute hilly run outside. It was a bit chilly, but I warmed up quickly. I'm just so happy to be back in the fresh air!
After arriving back at the dorm much earlier than usual (didn't have to take the trek to/from the gym), I had the time to use up the last bit of oats I had (1 serving, 1/2 cup dry) and make myself a deliciously creamy bowl of oats for breakfast!
I cooked the oats with 1 cup hemp milk, and added 1 tbsp almond butter, the other 1/2 of my banana, some dried cherries, 1 tbsp flax and a big sprinkle of cinnamon. Yum! Creamy and delicious. Now my oats are all gone, so I think it's time to try some more breakfast choices. (Even though I love my oats, it will be WAY too warm for them soon!)
With the toppings:

A delicious spoonful of oaty banana cherry creaminess:

Today is an ordinary Tuesday in terms of classes, I have philosophy and then after I eat my lunch I'm going to head over to the Quad to see what Earth Day festivities are going on before heading to chemistry and then going off to work this evening. I don't have my car on campus now, and I'm a bit nervous I won't have a spot tonight if people aren't going to be driving as much... I guess we'll see.

Have an eco-friendly day!
