Sweet and Smooth

I have been on a smoothie kick the last 12 hours! It started when my friend called me up last night and asked if I wanted to make milkshakes... I agreed, as long as they were healthy! We used light ice cream and nonfat milk to make a delicious late night snack... unfortunately I forgot my camera, but they were tasty looking!! I got a decent amount of sleep, and woke up bright-eyed this morning. I started the day with 2 sets of my favorite Self strength routine (took about 25 minutes) and then got ready. For some reason, my healthy milkshake held me over last night, because I didn't need a pre-strength snack, and wasn't even hungry until I started making my breakfast. I had a deeeelicious smoothie; the same kind I made before:
1 cup unsweetened soymilk
3/4 cup frozen mixed berries
1 large banana
1 scoop chocolate protein powder

YUM! I am amazed at how 1 1/2 glasses of this tasty, protein-packed fruity drink can fill me to the brim!! It was the perfect breakfast to start my day, exactly what I wanted.

I packed my lunch as well, no liquid meals here- just my standard hummus/cheese sammie, some carrots, and I packed a granola to go and a nectarine for snacks. Should keep me going for the day!

Off for some Food Management and Anatomy... then I have a Nutrition Club meeting in the afternoon, which I'm pretty excited about! (Health geek, I know...)

Andrea,
I actually just joined this year; last year I didn't have time with my schedule but I'm so excited to participate this year! From what I hear they do a lot of volunteer work, spread the word about nutritious choices around campus, and go on fun trips like Food Shows!!
