My larabar snack this afternoon held me over quite well, I'm going to go make my dinner after this... but I figured a lunch post would be good!
I stopped by International Pockets after Philosophy class today. It took a while for me to get my food, so I had one small falafel round (the "real" kind) dipped in a bit of hummus they offered me while I waited. I usually try not to eat anything fried, so I make it a point to ask for my falafel "baked", but I figured one round wouldn't hurt... it's chickpeas after all!
And it was yummy, and kept me from going CRAZY as they prepared my salad.
HOWEVER, my stomach felt funny ALL chem class... and I can only attribute it to this; everything else I had I eat on a regular basis!
Weird. Oh, well- it's better now!
For lunch I ordered the "House Falafel Salad", which is a huge salad of greens topped with tomatoes, cucumber, pickles, banana peppers, kalamata olives, onions, tabbouleh and feta- plus falafel! It was HUGE... I ate all the greens and veggies, all the falafel, about half the pickles, 3 of the olives and about 1/3 the tabbouleh (there was a TON). I asked for just a light sprinkling of feta. They served it with some pita bread and balsamic viniagrette dressing, but with all the healthy olive oil in the tabbouleh and the flavor from the banana peppers and feta I didn't need to use any dressing! I was full after the salad so I skipped the pita bread.
I did, however have the small piece of free baklava that came with my salad.
I never pass up baklava, it's my favorite... the perfect little treat! This one was only a couple inches, and it's filled with heart healthy pistachios... I can pretend it's healthy! hehe =)
(Baklava's on the napkin to the left!)
That kept me full through chem, even though like I mentioned my stomach felt a bit funny.
It went away after when I had my nice Cashew Cookie LaraBar for a snack... yum!
Held me through my LONGGG lab... 3 whole hours this one.
I'm glad to be back now though, dinner time!
