New 'do

Went to the hair stylist this afternoon for a trim and a touchup... and came out with a whole new 'do! Crazy!
Well, not too crazy. I've had my fair share of hair changes (long, short, medium and everywhere in between... brunette, balck, redhead, caramel, auburn, pink streaks, purple-ish... everything it seems!)
Right now I'm trying to grow it out so I can wear it up over the summer... she cut a bit more off the bottom than I would have liked, but it should still grow out! I've also got some funky red chunks and blonde streaks in there... very fun, different- I love a good change!

I went for a nice run this morning on the treadmill, slow but a higher incline than usual- 35 minutes running, 10 walking.
For lunch I had a selection of foods I could munch on while studying... Veggie corndog with Annie's Natural Honey Mustard (1 tsp), some baby carrots, about a cup of cooked broccolli and 20 big, juicy red grapes. Yum!

Lunch calories: ~325 kcals

Kept me filled through my hair appointment, and then I was hungry afterwards so I stopped in at the natural food store down the hall, Food for Thought, and picked up a cinnamon roll LaraBar... SOOO good! Nice and satisfying snack. We should be having dinner around 6, so I hope it holds me!

Snack calories: 210 kcals

I also picked up some of my favorite little ginger candies... "Gin Gins" for $1.39! All they are are ginger and a bit of sugar, GREAT when you want a light sweet treat or your tummy is bothering you... works better than any meds I've tried! Only 35 kcal for 3.

We're going to the "xo steakhouse" in providence... it's a pretty famous place and the menu looks fabulous, so I'll let you know how it is!

Time to get ready for the show!
It's snowing and I was planning on wearing a skirt. What to wear?!?!

Excellent that your 'new do' turned out- I happen to be off for a haircut in a few minutes as well! Weird. How are those larabars? I've never actually tried one, but I've heard pretty great things. At the moment I like the Clif Mojo bars because they're like trail mix. I like how you can actually see the nuts and such in them so it feels a little less processed, but maybe I'm just silly. Dinner sounds awesome, have an amazing time and enjoy being home with your family (AND the toaster!!). P.S. did you notice that your breakfast held you longer than usual after adding the flax? I'm debating picking some up at the store. Did it taste super gritty? Thanks for all that you do and the constant inspiration you provide! And sorry I can't help with the 'what to wear' conundrum- can't even think about snow- it's 70 here in cali and I'm going to savor it by reading in the sun (not to brag, haha).

I LOVE larabars, simply put!
I was always afraid of them because most of them are between 190-210 kcals and all have a pretty hefty amount of fat... then I tried one. DELICIOUS, all natural, only fruit and nuts... so all healthy fats! They are very minimally processed.
Plus, They're the only bar I've found that holds me a full 3 hours. (KIND bars are a close second, they usually hold me 2-2.5!) I highly reccomend them! Cinnamon Roll are my new favorite, I think. Just sweet enough!

As for breakfast... yep, it held me as long as breakfast CAN hold me... 3 1/2 hours and my stomach was grumbling, I waited a bit longer and was fine- I ate breakfast about 7:45 and lunch at 11:45. Go flax! Its a bit expensive, but soo high in omega-3s, definately worth it. It didn't taste gritty, just a bit nutty. I liked the added texture!

Oh, and P.S... I SO envy the 70 degree weather! I love RI for it's beautiful sunny spring/summers, but the winters stink.
