So this snack was a bit sad, I reached for the last of my strawberries and realized two of the big ones had already gone bad! Oh, well... they were good while they lasted! I enjoyed the last 4 with some graham sticks (7, 1/2 a serving) and I'm ready to go do dishes before calling it a night.

Hey! I love your blog. I'm a college student too and live in a dorm with only a mini fridge and microwave. I hardly ever eat in the dining hall because the food is pretty gross. I usually eat all my meals in my room, but obviously without a stove my options are limited. What kind of cooking supplies and devices do you have in your dorm (such as microwave, toaster, etc.) Any good ideas for things I can microwave? What foods do you usually keep in your dorm room?
Hey fruitalicious,
Sorry this post took a while; I've been super busy!
Hopefully I'll be able to give this it's own page some time soon... but I hope this answers your question:
I have a microwave and fridge- we're not allowed a toaster! So, I'm very limited as well- I work with what I've got!

Some fave dorm room meals include:
-Vegetarian chili with a side of steamed veggies
-Whole wheat pita pockets stuffed with hummus, tabbouleh and veggies
-Big salads with (rinsed) canned beans, lots of veggies and maybe a bit of dried fruit
-Oatmeal made with soy milk, topped with fruit, flax, and nuts
-Chick'n Parmesean (if you eat meat it can be faux Chicken Parm with frozen chicken patties; I use the meatless kind) by heating up a chick'n patty and topping it with some marinara and a slice of low fat cheese, and melting it
-Soup and kashi crackers (quick, filling and yummy!)
-Veggie burgers on english muffins with dijon mustard, lots of veggies and melted cheese!
-Brown rice cup mixed with some frozen steamed veggies and chopped up tofu steaks
-Tuna/salmon salad using reduced fat mayo or nayo, chopped crunchy veggies, lemon juice and stuffed with veggies in a wheat pita, wrap, or on top of a bed of greens- i also love to add canellini beans to this!
-Cottage cheese or greek yogurt topped with fruit (canned or fresh) and granola
-Microwave "pizza" using a whole wheat pita, marinara sauce, veggies, and cheese- all melted together (yum!)
-Grilled "chick'n" stirfry using a chopped quorn patty, brown rice cup, some frozen broccolli, snow peas, mushrooms and carrots (or other veggies) and drizzled with some teriyaki and soy sauce
-Microwave pasta/organic mac n cheese: get the water good and boiling, drop in serving of pasta, cover and let get soft, put back in micro for a few minutes (time depends on your microwave power), take it out and stir, drain when soft and top with a drizzle of olive oil and some sundried tomatoes, steamed veggies and marinara sauce, use a laughing cow wedge and stir it up to make a creamy cheese sauce, or even add some pesto!
I hope these suggestions help =)
