Uh, oh, cold's coming...

Bad news.
This morning I woke up with a horrible sore throat.
Ugh. Theres this yucky bug going around the University and I've been trying my hardest to avoid it... cleaning up, washing my hands, purell, lots of water, vitamin c, the works.
Welp, seems even all my crazy preventative measures won't fend off this one.
HOPEFULLY I can nip it in the bud before it gets too bad... I can't be sick, I have 2 exams this week!
I hoping some nice homeopathic meds will keep it under control... I like the more natural, the better.
Any suggestions on things you've tried to stop colds in the work?

Anyway, this morning I didn't feel too bad after all that food last night... I guess thats a sign I didn't go way overboard, which is always good.
I had a Halls Defense Lozenge when I woke up with my scratchy throat... then a bit later I made my breakfast.
Again, I love being home... I utilized the stove!
I made myself a nice big veggie-egg white omelet with 3/4 cup egg whites, 1/2 cup each spinach and mushrooms, with a few chopped onions thrown in there. I dipped in it 1/2 tbsp organic ketchup.
On the side I had a nectarine and 2 Morningstar vegetarian sausages... delish!

Pretty moderate, calorie-wise even with all that food!
~375 kcals
Hopefully it keeps me through yoga, and then Mom & I are checking out a new cafe for lunch!

I am SO sorry about the cold!! I think that yoga's probably the best natural cure for it though- coupled with an orange and lots of water and sleep ;) Plus, with all the balanced foods you're eating you should be back to fighting form in no time! What kind of yoga do you usually do? i just discovered a bikram studio by my house and am thinking of giving it a gander. Hope that the new cafe was a success and that you're feeling better. Try to take it easy (I know, it's hard) in order to be tops for your exams this week.

I stocked up on the oranges, plus some Coldcalm (a homeopathic med...) so I hope I can stop it before it really starts!

Jess- I do a variety, Vinyasa flow hot yoga, (very close to Bikram) as well as Kundalini and sometimes I'll just take a nice basic Hatha class!
I'd love to try new forms though, I'm always up for a challenge!

Thanks for the well wishes!

This is almost exactly my normal breakfast, right down to the sausages. So good! I don't use ketchup, but maybe i'll try it next time.

I never used to use ketchup, and then I guess one day I was in the mood for something different, tried it, and now I love it! I just use a bit, and the organic kind of course. Just a little extra flavor! =)
