This morning I woke up feeling nice and energized; I got to bed on time last night so I got a good night's sleep, which is a great way to start the week! For fuel I had 1/2 peanut butter crunch clif bar, and headed to the track for a steady 40-ish minute run (I forgot to time it!). I finished my run and considered doing a bit of strength before I left, but thought about it and realized I wasn't quite sure what I would do if I 'strength trained'. The weight room was packed, so even if I attempted snagging some hand weights there wouldn't be any room to use them, and to be honest I always feel a bit awkward trying to use the machines around all the huge bodybuilders, so thats not my first choice! I considered abs and lunges/squats, but the only place left to do those was the track! So many excuses, I know. I've been in such a "cardio rut". I can definately feel that my arms and abs especially need some strengthening and toning. I used to strength religiously 2-3 times a week, but lately it seems I've only been able to squeeze it in once a week. Anyone have suggestions as to a good routine I could start, easily, to begin to re-strengthen my arms and abs? Any help would be appreciated!
When I got back and showered, I had a big bowl of cereal for breakfast. I've had the Kashi Cinnamon Harvest cereal sitting around for a while, and although I enojoy the taste, it doesn't have enough healthy fats to hold me over. But, I still have about 1/2 a bag leftover, and I hate to waste, so I decided I'd combine 1/2 serving of Cinnamon Harvest with my delicious, filling Honey Almond Flax Kashi Go Lean (1 1/2 cups) for some extra flavor and calories.
It worked perfect! I had a nice big bowl of cereal, a nectarine and I'm full enough to start my day.
Cereal mix:
With 1 cup nonfat soymilk and a nectarine: (I usually buy the "lite" soymilk, but nonfat was on sale this week so that's what I'm working with!)
Today I have my regular jam packed Monday, ending with an exam in my Nutrition Class... I feel pretty prepared for it, but it is a long exam so I'm hoping I'll do well!
I'll be back after that for a lunch/snack/dinner post- Have a great Monday!

i actually like getting in between all the body builder men with my hot pink shoes (yes, i lift weights in neon pink chucks) and my vegan gloves... I tell them to shove their asses over when they're in my way too.
I might be small but I'm determined :P
