Continued Victory and a long night

Yesterday I was going, going all day and when I got home from work at 9:30 there really wasn't any time for anything but a snack and a quick phone call before I was ready to hit the hay.

Yesterday morning I started my day with some exercise; I used my parents' treadmill to do a treadmill walk/run- I walked 10 minutes at a 10% incline, ran 20 at a 4%, and then walked another 10 for 40 minutes in total. After I was showered and we were on our way out, I snacked on a big macintosh apple which totally hit the spot- I LOVE apples in the fall! (More on that soon!)

We headed out mid-morning to the football game; my sister met up with her friends and my mom and i (both alumni!) sat together and spotted a few of my friends from high school! So we chatted with them and watched the game. They WON in the last 15 seconds! Whoo, go Mariners!
For lunch we stopped for a quick sammie at Subway. I got the grilled chicken breast on honey oat with all the veggies, yes, AND hot peppers! I also added some provolone cheese and honey mustard.

It held me perfectly through the afternoon, until I got to work and realized I forgot a snack... so I ran to the back of the store and picked up PB pure protein bar which held me until my on-the-go dinner, a black bean soup and some carrot sticks.

After a long night at work, I came home and definately needed a snack- so I grabbed a calming Rachel's yogurt, which I LOVED, and then decided I was craving some banana bread so I had a 1/2 piece of some Tyler's mom made. Mmm, mm it was just enough!

I got a good night's rest and today I woke up energized and excited to try a new oatmeal combo- pumpkin pie!
I bought some pumpkin a while back, and have wanted to try this but I spent some time pondering what the best combo would be for me to make. I'll definately experiment a little more, but this combo was deeeelicous!
1/3 cup oats made with 2/3 cup water
1/3 cup pumpkin
1/3 cup cottage cheese
1 medium/large banana, sliced
pumpkin pie spice
cinnamon
vanilla extract
slivered almonds
and... a drizzle of maple syrup!

Mmm, It was super creamy and filling, but I wish I had tasted the oats more! I hope it holds me throughout the morning, we're going apple picking before I have to head off to work so I'm super excited about that!! I love apple picking, it's one of my favorite fall activities! You can be sure I'm going to have a bunch of apple-related posts coming up very soon!!

I love all of those too! I had a lot of fun picking/eating my way through the orchard!!

To answer your question, I like Rachel's yogurts, and they're not too expensive- 5/$4 at my store, but they're a bit sweet so they're more of a treat for me than a big part of a meal. I would reccommend trying them though!
