Whew, today was quite the jam packed day full of holiday shopping fun!
Since I got a good amount of studying done yesterday, I took the day off today to go up to the mall with Nick and do some Christmas shopping.
I woke up around 8 and had a hearty oatmeal breakfast using 1/2 cup rolled oats cooked with 1/2 cup nonfat soy, 1/2 water and added 1tbsp PB, a banana and some raisins. Delish!
This was the perfect fuel for my workout- I did the usual Wednesday routine (elliptical cardio/arm strength), unfortunately my strength training got cut back a bit because it was so busy!! Still got about 25 minutes in.
I snacked on an apple on the way up to Providence...
And when we got to Prov we met up with my Dad (he works in the city) at Uno Chicago Grill for lunch. I had a delicious panino filled with all my favorite things- chicken, spinach, tomatoes, kalamata olives and feta! It was called the 'It's all Greek to Me" panini, and was it delicious! I ordered steamed veggies on the side, which I ate about 1/2 of, as well as 3/4 of the sandwich before I got full!
Yum!!
We shopped all afternoon, with some successes and some failures... I was able to pick up a couple family stocking stuffers, a present for my best guy friend, an idea (finally!) about what I should buy Nick and a couple things for myself- a tiny spoon at Crate & Barrel, and a cute gold skirt for holiday parties!
I couldn't resist a tiny piece of Williams Sonoma's famous peppermint bark!
I also had a fresh kiwi lemonade before we left because I was thirsty- probably loaded with sugar, but it was definitely a nice refreshing treat after a long tiring day of shopping!
I also got something very exciting- Nick and I stopped in Build-a-Bear and he bought me my very own Black-belt Hello Kitty! Yes, she is dressed in a Gi!!! Greatest boyfriend ever. Favorite Christmas present, for sure!
Back home, I made myself a quick and easy dinner before starting to study- a 1 egg, 1 egg white folded omelette topped with s&p, 2 Morningstar veggie sausages and some of my leftover salad (field greens, apple, goat cheese, pecans, craisins) with about a tbsp of Annie's rasberry vinagrette. Just the right amount for a delicious dinner!
Time to hit the books, I have a portfolio due AND an exam tomorrow, so I won't be posting until late again!
Edited to add: Late night study snack - 0% chobani and agave nectar!
Time to rest up for my exams!
Kristin
